That’s a very astute, and hopeful post. I love that our brothers and sisters in Palestine are the ones that are freeing the world from the worship of it’s false gods.
"The Theory of the Leisure Class" condensed to one page! Brilliant!
If you haven't yet read it you should.
Veblen calls the higher classes barbarians. It was written over 100 years ago and is a perfect description of today's society. To summarize it "The more useless one is the more respected and revered."
Among the chapters are -
Pecuniary Emulation
Conspicuous Consumption
Conspicuous Leisure
and more.
It's worth a read just for the laughs.
Nothing much has changed since Roman times in society.
Goosebumps. Stunned cheers from tired groups everywhere. Those with bigger crowds, more networks, stadiums of noise. An instant classic, but not what they mean in publishing, but rather the type clenched in the hands of peasantry when pamphlets were first printed, when people gathered to teach each other to read, when misery turned to anger and eyes turned to the citadels.
Wow Aya - Thank you for speaking truth to Power. Yet do not throw out the baby with the dirty bath water as far as God goes -we all need God now more than ever. But humans have blown it for sure. Hopefully we can clean up the mess we have made before Mother Nature makes us another extinct fossil layer.
The power of your voice like others we are hearing now, projects in details the truths we are witnessing. But here your words also give us a reason for a much needed elation from the deep catastrophe brutally inflicted on our beloved indigenous people of Palestine. It is time for other gods to hold our hearts safely in peace and wonder.
Free Palestine 🇵🇸

I was only commenting on the neoliberal 'gods' of money and celebrity. I would never criticise any religion and their observance of God :)
Let's hope we can turn the tide.
