My distant ancestors believed that if they died an honorable death in battle, they would go to Valhalla, which was one hall of many, this one belonging to Odin. If they lived a good life but did not die in battle, that was OK, too, for other gods had their own Halls in Asgard.
It is a powerful thing, but no more so than Muslim patience and perseverance. Please accept the respects, and support, of an old pagan. There is no honor in murdering the helpless. I cannot sympathize with the Israelis. Not at all.
I wish I am as resilient as my people, but living in the West has made us afraid. Afraid to be traumatized, afraid to speak out, afraid for our wellbeing and our families, I don't want to be afraid anymore.
